Masar — Privacy Policy

Masar ("the app") is the indoor and outdoor wayfinding app for the Ain Shams University Faculty of Engineering. This policy explains what the app does with your information.

The short version: Masar does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything runs on your device.

Information the app uses (on your device only)

• Location. With your permission, the app uses your device's location to show where you are on the campus map and to calculate walking directions. Your location is processed entirely on your device, is never sent to us or to any third party, and is never stored after your session.
• Camera. With your permission, the app uses the camera only to scan "you-are-here" QR codes mounted in buildings, so it can set your starting point indoors. No photos or video are recorded, stored, or transmitted.
• On-device storage. Your favourites, recent places, and a cached copy of the campus map are stored locally so the app works offline. This data stays on your device and is removed if you uninstall the app or clear its data.

Information we collect

None. Masar has no user accounts, no analytics or tracking SDKs, no advertising, and no third-party data sharing. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, device identifiers, or usage data.

Network use

The app works fully offline. When a network is available, it may check the university server for an updated campus map. These requests transfer only the map data itself and do not include any personal information about you.
